Biography

Ryan is an Associate Attorney at GEM, practicing in all areas of family law. Prior to joining GEM, Ryan was an Assistant Attorney General for the State of Colorado, investigating pharmaceutical manufacturers and distributors for their involvement in exacerbating Colorado’s opioid epidemic. His vigorous efforts secured over $750 million in settlement funds earmarked for addiction recovery in the State of Colorado and aided in securing tens of billions Nationally. As AAG, he obtained invaluable experience investigating unscrupulous behavior, collaborating in high stakes scenarios and fighting for the good of the people. Ryan brings this important perspective and dedication to all his matters.

Ryan chose to practice family law out of a continued commitment to serving the public, employing his skills and experience to solve problems that greatly impact all aspects of his clients' lives. Ryan spent over a decade investigating financial crimes and cross-border transactional activities through Anti-Money Laundering and Counter-Terrorist Finance efforts.  At his prior firm, King & Spalding LLP, Ryan managed matters involving government investigations into large, corporate clientele. Ryan’s business acumen and financial wherewithal prove invaluable in high-asset and high-conflict matters.

Born on-base in Monterey, California, Ryan spent most of his childhood in Atlanta, Georgia. Ryan was a Governor’s Scholar at Georgia Tech, recognized for his excellence in academics, athletics, and his attainment of the rank of Eagle Scout with the Boy Scouts of America. While at Florida State University’s College of Law, Ryan provided legal services to under-represented individuals at their Children’s Advocacy Clinic, took on legal research efforts at the International Human Rights Advocacy Clinic, and studied European Human Rights & Counter-Terrorist Efforts at St. Edmund Hall, a college of the University of Oxford.

Outside of practicing law, Ryan enjoys hiking, baseball, working with his men’s group, cooking, and home improvement projects.
