Chelsea K. Brandt

Chelsea is an Associate Attorney at GEM, practicing in all areas of family law. Chelsea’s goal is to help families reduce conflict, generate creative solutions to address contentious situations, and transition into new chapters of life with as much ease as possible.

Chelsea graduated from the University of Minnesota Law School, where she focused on business law, to include studying international business law in Lyon, France, and actively participated in the Business Law Association and the L.L.M Mentorship program. Business-minded and client-focused, Chelsea is a dedicated and passionate family law attorney with a commitment to achieving positive outcomes for clients.

Chelsea gained further experience working as a legal intern for Bankruptcy Judge William J. Fisher, where she completed intensive research and writing projects for bankruptcy decisions. Chelsea additionally clerked in commercial litigation and contract matters at a Washington D.C. law firm. She also clerked for the Consumer Justice Center P.A., assisting clients and families sue companies for violations of federal consumer protection laws.

Chelsea earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in both English and Psychology, with Distinction from the University of Colorado at Boulder. Her outstanding academics were recognized through her induction into the University of Colorado’s chapter of Phi Beta Kappa, the oldest, most prestigious honors fraternity in the country. While in Boulder, she volunteered for four years with Safehouse Progressive Alliance for Nonviolence, assisting victims of domestic violence to obtain temporary and permanent protection orders at the Boulder County Court. It was at this time that she formed a passion for helping families in transition.

Originally from Fargo, North Dakota, Chelsea interned for Senator John Hoeven in Washington D.C., researching and writing legislative proposals with a focus on rural Americans. Outside of practicing law, Chelsea enjoys learning new languages, reading science fiction, and exploring the natural beauty of Colorado.
