Matt Fegan

Matt is an Associate Attorney at GEM, practicing in all areas of family law. Prior to joining GEM, Matt clerked for the Honorable Chief Judge Christopher J. Baumann of the Denver District Court. There, he obtained invaluable experience in the courtroom and in crafting orders for many litigation matters. Matt brings this important perspective - what judges want to see in the courtroom and how to present it - to his clients.

Matt chose to practice family law out of a deep commitment to serving families and children; employing his skills and experience to solve problems that impact the core of his clients' lives. Matt spent a decade as a teacher and school leader in low income middle schools through Teach for America. He understands the impact of conflict on children and believes the role of a successful attorney is to provide competent and thorough legal representation in a conscientious and compassionate manner.

Matt attended law school at the University of Denver Sturm College of Law as a Provost Scholar. He earned the Scholastic Excellence Award for his outstanding classroom performance. He has a Masters of Education Administration from Oklahoma University with a specialty in Curriculum and Supervision.

Originally from Ohio, Matt was a student-athlete at the College of Wooster, where he studied History and Education. Outside of practicing law, Matt enjoys basketball, chess, and his two dogs, a black lab and a golden retriever.
