This week, learn more about Senior Associate Attorney Heather Landauer!
Q. How long have you been an attorney?
A. I have been a practicing attorney since 2013.
Q. Have you ever worked in any other areas of the law?
A. I have primarily practiced in family law throughout my legal career. In law school I interned for a domestic relations judge and have focused on family law ever since.
Q. What drew you to family law?
A. As a child of divorce, I understand firsthand the impact that a divorce has on a family. Practicing family law allows you to help individuals on a personal level and help get them through what is, quite often, a traumatic life experience.
Q. What do you enjoy most about family law?
A. I enjoy helping my clients successfully navigate through their family law case and begin to see the light at the end of the tunnel.
Q. What do you think makes you stand out among other family law attorneys?
A. I practice exclusively in family law and have a great deal of experience seeing cases through from beginning to end, both in and out of the courtroom. While I fully believe that there can be benefits to resolving cases outside of court, I do not shy away from taking cases to trial if need be. Because of my experience in court, I am confident taking a case to trial if settlement has proven unsuccessful.
Q. Are you originally from Colorado? If so, what do you love most about it? If not, what brought you to Colorado and what do you love most about it?
A. I am a third generation Colorado native. I love everything about our beautiful state, but in particular, our 300 plus days of sunshine each year, the Denver Broncos, and the CU Buffs.
Q. When you are not working at GEM Family Law, what do you enjoy doing in your free time?
A. In my free time, I enjoy traveling and spending time with my husband, family, and friends. On the weekends I like to take our dogs to the dog park and try out new restaurants.
Q. What is something interesting that most people don’t know about you?
A. I’ve traveled to 20 different countries and am hoping to travel to many more in the future.
Q. Any other interesting facts about you?
A. I am passionate about animal rescue and adoption, and my husband and I have 3 adopted dogs and 1 adopted cat.
